PURPOSE:To maintain superior heat, corrosion and wear resistances over a long period, by forming the film of a Ti compd. on the surface of a copper member and further forming the second film of an oxide such as Al2O3 or SiO2 so as to improve the adhesion of the oxide to the copper. CONSTITUTION:The first film of a Ti compd. such as TiN or TiC is formed on the surface of a member at least the surface of which is copper or a copper alloy by a vapor phase thin film growth method or other method. The second film of Al2O3, SiO2, MgO, BeO, ZrO2, CaO or Ta2O5 is similarly formed on the first film. The coat of an org. substance may be formed on the resulting copper-base coated member. Thus, superior heat, corrosion and wear resistance can be provided to the member such as an electric wire. |
