PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding machine for a printing machine, which is capable of drastically reducing print loss by simultaneously detecting the folding position deviation of a web and the cutting position deviation of the web, in a folding machine and to provide a method of folding the web.SOLUTION: A folding machine 20 includes a pair of imaging parts 50 and 52 imaging a web folded in half by a trigon 22 respectively and a rotary encoder 60 detecting the phase of a cutter cylinder 30. The folding position deviation of the web by the trigon 22, the cutting position deviation of the web by the cutter cylinder 30, and the folding position deviation of a web piece by a chopper 38 are calculated respectively based on imaging information of the web W folded in half by the trigon 22, imaged by a pair of imaging parts 50 and 52, and the phase of the cutter cylinder 30 detected by the rotary encoder 60. |
