SPLIT RAIL PFC AND AC INVERTER ARCHITECTURE

A power conversion system including power factor correction circuitry (201) and power inversion circuitry (203). The power factor correction circuitry (21) has a split-rail configuration and includes a bidirectional switch (207, 208) used to produce intermediate direct current power. The power inversion circuitry(203) selectively operates switches (211; 212) to produce sinusoidal alternating current output power. The output power and the intermediate power are regulated together.
