The invention relates to a device for the throughflow treatment of web-shaped, gas-permeable material (M), in particular for drying woven or unwoven materials, having the following features: - a wire drum (S) which is mounted rotatably, is connected to a vacuum generator and has a permeably designed outer circumference, wherein the material web (M) to be treated runs around part of the outer circumference of the wire drum (S), - a treatment chamber (BH) which accommodates the wire drum (S) and is loaded with the gas to be treated, preferably heated air, - a wire cover (SD) within the treatment chamber (BH), which wire cover (SD) surrounds the wire drum (S) in the region which is wrapped around by the material web (M). According to the invention, the air permeability of the wire cover (SD) can be varied at least in a circumferential section of the wire drum (S). |
