The present invention relates to a touch screen apparatus and a touch sensing method. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the touch screen apparatus includes: a panel unit including a plurality of nodes in which capacitance is generated by a touch input; a signal conversion unit converting the capacitance into sensing data in a digital form; and a calculation unit calculating effective data from the sensing data, selecting a part of a plurality of nodes and sets the selected nodes as an error group by using the effective data, calculating a first correlation value based on the reference data for each node of the error group and the effective data, calculating a second correlation value based on the sensing data for each node of the error group and the effective data, and determines whether or not there is a touch error based on the comparison result of the first correlation value and the second correlation value.
