The RFID reader tunnel (10) has an electromagnetic radiation shield portion (24) that is provided with side walls (26) and a ceiling portion (28). A shelf or conveyor is provided for an object in a tunnel portion. A RFID reader unit (18) is provided with a RFID antenna (16). The shield portion is formed by specific modules (30-1,30-2) which are releasably connected with each other. The specific modules are selected from a set of predefined modules.
