The present invention relates to an anti-cancer supplement agent for gastric cancer, containing dichloroacetate as an active ingredient. More specifically, it has been found that low-concentration dichloroacetate effectively induces the apoptosis of gastric carcinoma cells by attenuating anti-cancer resistance for 5-fluorouracil under a low oxygen condition induced in gastric cancer, by inhibiting a glycolytic pathway of carcinoma cells. Therefore, the dichloroacetate can be used as the anti-cancer supplement agent capable of promoting apoptotic effects of 5-fluorouracil against gastric carcinoma cells, a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating gastric cancer, or a pharmaceutical composition for preventing gastric cancer recurrence, by attenuating anti-cancer resistance of carcinoma cells against 5-fluorouracil. |
