The invention particularly relates, in particular, to a method for lubricating a motor-driven hub (1) for electrically driving an axle of a motor vehicle, said vehicle also using another drive source, said motor-driven hub including a hub (2) for receiving a wheel, wherein the hub is rotatably mounted relative to a hub holder, the motor-driven hub including: an electrical drive machine (3), which includes an outer stator connected to the hub holder, and an inner rotor; a reduction means that operates between the rotor of the electrical machine and the hub; and a coupling/uncoupling means (4) capable of assuming a coupling position, in which the rotation of the electrical machine is coupled with the rotation of the hub, and an uncoupling position, in which the rotation of the electrical machine is not coupled with the rotation of the hub, wherein the reduction means and the coupling/uncoupling means are contained in a housing (5), the housing further containing a lubricant, wherein the lubrication of the motor-driven hub is ensured by the rotation of the electrical machine, said method being characterized in that it includes a lubrication stage that involves rotating the electrical machine while the coupling/uncoupling means is in the uncoupling position and the vehicle is being propelled by the other drive source (14). |
