摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving adhesiveness between a seal member and an electrolyte membrane.SOLUTION: A fuel cell comprises: an electrolyte membrane; a first catalyst layer which is formed on one surface of the electrolyte membrane; a second catalyst layer which is formed on the other surface of the electrolyte membrane; a first gas diffusion layer which is connected with the first catalyst layer; a second gas diffusion layer which is connected with the second catalyst layer; a first separator which is disposed in the first gas diffusion layer side; a second separator which is disposed in the second gas diffusion layer side; and a seal member which is held between the first separator and the second separator and includes an acid denaturation thermoplastic resin on the surface thereof. At least a part of the peripheral part of the electrolyte membrane is exposed outside of the peripheral part of the first catalyst layer, the seal member includes an adhesive joint which is connected with at least a part of the exposed part of the electrolyte membrane, and the adhesive joint is constituted by applying an amino group with the acid denaturation thermoplastic resin.
