A drain liquid relief system for a subsea compressor, comprises a drain storage tank (14) for collecting drain liquid contaminating the compressor flow in the drain storage tank (14), as well as an intermittently pressurizing device (16, 18, 20, 21-24) and a suction line (26) connected to the bottom of the drain storage tank (14), wherein the intermittently pressurizing device is adapted to intermittently pressurize the drain storage tank (14) in order to intermittently blow the drain liquid out of the drain storage tank (14) through the suction line (26). A method for draining a subsea compressor comprises the steps: Providing the drain liquid relief system; Continuously collecting drain liquid contaminating the compressor flow in the drain storage tank (14); Intermittently pressurizing of the drain storage tank (14) by the intermittently pressurizing device (16, 18, 20, 21-24), in order to intermittently blow the drain liquid out of the drain storage tank (14) through the suction line (26). |
