<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can detect an amount of waste toner stored in a waste toner bottle more accurately than before. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier that carries a toner image of an image to be formed on a recording medium; a waste toner storage unit that stores waste toner recovered from the image carrier; a light detection unit 60 that has a light-emitting unit 61 that emits detection light L to be radiated to the waste toner storage unit, and a light receiving unit 62 that receives the detection light L that has passed through the waste toner storage unit; a resistance circuit 80 that is connected to the light receiving unit 62 of the light detection unit 60; and a control unit 50 that controls a resistance value of the resistance circuit 80 to be changed in accordance with a detection result by the light detection unit 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
