An associated method is also provided.

A compression connector configured to attach to a coaxial cable, the coaxial cable having a center conductor and an outer conductor, the compression connector comprising: a connector body comprising a first end and a second end; a compression member configured to engage the second end of the connector body; a clamp configured to facilitate threadable engagement of the outer conductor; a compression surface disposed within the connector body, wherein sliding the compression member in relation to the connector body in a direction toward the first end of the connector body facilitates clamping of a leading edge of the outer conductor between the clamp and the compression surface; a clamp ring comprising a first end, a second end, an inner bore defined between the first end and the second end of the clamp ring, the clamp ring being configured to functionally engage an inner surface of the compression member; and a first insulator having a first end, a second end, and an inner bore defined between the first end and the second end of the first insulator, the first insulator electrically isolating a socket of a conductive pin from the compression surface, the conductive pin having a first end, a second end, and a flange extending radially outward from the conductive pin in a central region of the conductive pin, wherein the conductive pin is disposed within and slidably engages an inner surface of a second insulator, the second insulator having a first end, a second end, and an inner bore defined between the first end and the second end of the second insulator; wherein the flange is configured to engage the second end of the second insulator; and wherein the second insulator is configured to electrically isolate the conductive pin from the connector body.
