PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent its user from slipping and losing balance in a state that a floor surface of an entrance is wet and slipping may occur in the passenger conveyor.SOLUTION: An escalator 10 comprises: a footstep 30 which extends in an endless-state and moves orbitally; a drive part 24 moving the footstep 30 orbitally; and a control part 50 for controlling the speed of the drive part. And a sensor 36 for detecting a degree of wetness on a floor surface of an entrance 20 for riding on the footstep 30 is provided. The control part 50 can reduce the moving speed at several stages of the footstep 30 by the drive part 24 based on the degree of wetness detected by the sensor 36. |
