PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device which not only can inflate and develop efficiently but also can reduce a load that can be applied to an occupant.SOLUTION: An airbag comprises: a cushion part which is mounted on a side part of a seat back frame 106 of a seat of a vehicle and inflates and develops at a side of an occupant seated on the seat of the vehicle; and a plate member 114 in a plate-like shape which is installed between the cushion part and the seat back frame 106 and supports inflation and development of the cushion part. The plate member 114 protrudes further towards the front direction of the vehicle than the seat back frame 106 and has: a buffer region 130 which can turn towards a direction away from the seat back frame 106 in such a manner that at least a part of it is bent; and hinge portions 132a-132c which are provided in prescribed positions on the plate member 114 and allows the buffer region 130 to turn. |
