<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing which can be used in applications wherein the DN value is not less than 1,500,000 and the service temperature is not less than 200°C, and to provide a retainer used for the same. <P>SOLUTION: The retainer 1 is obtained by molding a carbon fiber composite material that is obtained by reinforcing a polymer compound serving as a matrix with a carbon fiber material. The carbon fiber material includes a fiber bundle of 1,000-5,000 monofilaments or a woven fabric using the fiber bundle.
