<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique in which a communication apparatus which performs data communication can be identified. <P>SOLUTION: A FAX device, when receiving an input of priority incoming setting, sets the time until the FAX device transmits a 200 OK to a home gateway after receiving an INVITE message to a first delay time. The FAX device broadcasts a first non-priority notification to other FAX devices in an internal network on condition that the FAX device has set the first delay time. The FAX device, when receiving the first non-priority notification from other FAX devices, sets the time until the FAX device transmits the 200 OK after receiving the INVITE message to a second delay time which is larger than the first delay time. The FAX device, when receiving the INVITE message, transmits the 200 OK on the basis of the set delay time of the first delay time and the second delay time.
