The fuel injection characteristic detection system has a pressure sensor, which detects the fuel pressure within a fuel supply system. A variation signal course of the fuel pressure, which is detected by the pressure sensor during the execution of the later stage injection, is generated. The generated variation signal course is rectified based on fuel temperature within a fuel injection device (20) and fuel temperature in a section of the fuel supply system. The operational characteristic is detected based on rectified variation signal course. |
