摘要 The disclosure discloses a printer comprising a storage part, a winding core, a rotating speed detecting portion, and a determining portion. The storage part stores a print-receiving tape roll that winds a print-receiving tape around an outer circumference part of a first winding core. The winding core driving device drives a second winding core for sequentially taking up the print-receiving tape on which print has been formed on an outer circumference part, and forming a roll. The rotating speed detecting portion detects a rotating speed of the second winding core. The determining portion determines whether or not the print-receiving tape roll has reached a tape end based on the rotating speed of the second winding core detected by the rotating speed detecting portion.

A printer comprising: a storage part configured to store a print-receiving tape roll that winds a print-receiving tape around an outer circumference part of a first winding core; a feeder configured to feed said print-receiving tape fed out from said print-receiving tape roll stored in said storage part; a printing head configured to form desired print on said print-receiving tape fed by said feeder; a winding core driving device configured to drive a second winding core for sequentially taking up said print-receiving tape on which print has been formed by said printing head on an outer circumference part, and forming a roll; a rotating speed sensor configured to detect a rotating speed of said second winding core driven by said winding core driving device; a processor; and a memory storing computer readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the printer to: determine that said print-receiving tape roll has reached a tape end when the rotating speed of said second winding core detected by said rotating speed sensor is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold value; anddetermining that the print-receiving tape roll has not reached the tape end when the rotating speed of said second winding core detected by said rotating speed sensor is less than the predetermined threshold value.
