A fire and smoke damper comprises a casting frame 11 and a turning closing damper 13, around which there is a casing part or tube 12. The casing part or tube is placed through a through-opening E in the casting frame 11. A mass is cast in situ in the casting frame which allows tight mounting, in a smaller opening and easier transportation of the assembly. The casting frame may comprise openings e through which the mass can be brought into contact with a wall surface in order to seal any gaps. The duct may be circular or rectangular and the damper may comprise a flap having a peripheral seal. The arrangement may further comprise a swelling (intumescent) seal 20 around the casing.
