[Also in Groups I and II] A rotor for a mixing and pulverizing machine e.g. for mincing meat comprises a plate 32 having attached to its underside a plurality of radial blades 35 which project beyond the periphery of the plate. If there are four blades the plate may be octagonal as shown in Fig. 2 and may have triangular fillets 36 behind the blades. There may also be one or a plurality of upstanding agitator pins 39 having sharpened front edges 40 on the upper side of the plate 32, and depending cylindrical baffles as at 34, 38 may be provided to prevent pulverized material entering the bearing 26 of the rotor spindle 27. Material fed to the chamber 10 of the machine shown in Fig. 1 rests on the top of the rotor, is agitated and broken up by the pins 39, and the fixed deflectors 41, passes over the edge of the plate 32, and after further agitation or pulverizing is discharged through outlets 15 which may be covered by a perforated screen 20 or a closing plate 25, retained by a screw 21 having a knob 24.
