A terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention determines whether one or more home devices are disposed outside a particular region, and obtains position information of the terminal when the terminal is determined to be disposed outside a particular region. The terminal calculates a distance between the terminal and a particular region having the home devices and elapsed time after a point of time when the terminal is determined to be moved to the outside of the particular region, based on the obtained position information. The terminal controls the home devices based on the calculated distance and elapsed time.
