Use of a vesicular formulation comprising a natural or synthetic phospholipid selected from the group consisting of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylserine and sphingomyelin and a non-ionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of polyoxyethylene sorbitans, polyhydroxyethylene stearates or polyhydroxethylene laurylethers, in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of rosacea, wherein the vesicles in the formulation do not contain any non-lipid, non-surfactant pharmaceutically active agent, wherein the (molar) ratio of phospholipid to non-ionic surfactant is 1:3 to 30:1, wherein the medicament is formulated for topical application and wherein the phospholipid together with the non-ionic surfactant provide the therapeutic activity in the skin against rosacea. |
