The invention relates to a method and a device for one-session imprinting in patients with total edentation, based on taking imprints of oral cavity using a jig-type device which is specially adapted to a two-stage method. According to the invention, the method has two stages: in the first stage classic imprints are taken of the two arcades, resulting in a lower imprint and an upper imprint reproducing all anatomical details required for a correct definition of the support of the intended oral rehabilitation, while, in the second stage, the device is introduced into the patient's oral cavity, the patient being intended to touch the lingual segment with the apex of his tongue and to maintain this position, after which the device is removed from the oral cavity, the impression material is prepared and fed into a 100 ml syringe which deposits the material in the upper vestibular area, in the lower one and on the front part of the palace, the device is introduced into the oral cavity and the material is further injected through the orifices of the central segment, the patient being in his resting position up to the setting of the impression material, after which the device is removed from the oral cavity and the imprint is checked to verify if it is suitable for the laboratory stage. The device, as claimed by the invention, consists of two central frames (1 and 2) made of platband-type plastics, a central lingual plate (3), some internal protuberances (4) which support the cylindrical rods (5) arranged perpendicular thereto and having at their external end a semi-cylindrical portion (6), the device having a plurality of zones: a zone (A) which is the space of insertion of the upper labial frenum, a zone (B) named unloaded zone, a zone (C) which is the space of insertion of the lower labial frenum, a zone (D) of the material intended to take the lip imprint, a zone (E) for the injection of the impression material and a zone (F) which spatially defines the lingual proprioceptive support. |
