The invention relates to a system and a method for measuring the diameter of abrasive water jet, meant to be used in industrial cutting applications. The claimed system comprises a video camera (6) placed on a system designed to move a cutting equipment (7) controlled by a digital control unit (11), which communicates, by means of a data bus (14), with a computer (13) provided with a specialized software for the recognition of the image of an abrasive water jet (5) of a cutting head (3), image processing and real-time transmission of the correction signals, via a data bus (16), to a batcher (4) of abrasive and, via another data bus (17), to an actuator (18), in order to adjust certain parameters of the cutting process. The claimed method consists in taking over the image of an abrasive water jet using a video camera, in processing the image of the jet using a specialized computer, processing the data and adjusting the parameters of the cutting process by means of an actuator. |
