PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle detection system capable of appropriately burning away adhesion particles adhering to a charged portion.SOLUTION: A particle detection system comprising a sensor body including a charged portion using particles contained in measurement target gas as charged particles and detecting the particles contained in the measurement target gas by using the charged particles, is configured so that the sensor body includes period detection means (step S12) that includes a heater portion heating at least part of the charged portion by heat generated by carrying a current and detecting a burnable period (for example, fuel-cut period) in which oxygen gas burning the adhesion particles adhering to the charged portion is present in the measurement target gas; and heat current-carrying control means (step S13) carrying a current to the heater portion in the burnable period and increasing a temperature of at least part of the charging portion up to a temperature at which the adhesion particles are burned.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
