This communication system is equipped with: a portable electronic mail terminal that is carried by a worker and used to transmit email; and a transfer device that receives the email transmitted from the portable electronic mail terminal, selects a transfer destination from among multiple preset transfer destinations, and transfers the received email to the selected transfer destination. The portable electronic mail terminal has: a message input unit for inputting a message; a subject selection unit for selecting subject text from among multiple sets of preset subject text; and an electronic mail transmission unit for transmitting, to the transfer device, email composed by setting the mail address of the portable electronic mail terminal as a transmission source mail address, the input message as body text, and the selected subject text as a subject. The transfer device selects a transfer destination on the basis of the transmission source mail address and the subject in the received email. |
