The purpose of the present invention is to compress simulation result data using an irreversible data compression method and transfer the compressed data to a recipient in such a manner that, after the compressed data is decompressed, the valid range of the decompressed data can be indicated to the recipient, and the recipient can easily set visualization parameters for visualizing the decompressed data. In order to accomplish this purpose, the present invention provides a data transfer device and a data transfer method which are characterized by being configured to transfer, together with compressed data and the used compression parameter, a correspondence table which indicates association between compression parameters and visualization parameters, to a recipient so that the recipient can display decompressed data using appropriate visualization parameters with reference to the correspondence table. |
