An inflation valve adaptor 5, Fig. 2, for a wheel rim, comprises a head portion 5a, a body portion 5c passing through the rim to its inner side and screw-threaded to receive a cap nut 8, and an axial passage 11 connected by a transverse passage 13 to an annular recess 12 which communicates with an inflation passage 14 in the wheel rim. When used in a tubeless tyre and wheel assembly, annular rubber seals 9 and 10 are fitted before the adaptor is clamped by the nut 8 to the wheel rim. When used in a wheel and tyre assembly having an inner tube, the head portion 5a is vulcanized to the inner tube 18, Fig. 4. The tube taking the place of the annular rubber seal 9.
