The purpose of the present invention is to increase both resistance to pressure and sealing properties of a high-pressure gas seal for sealing a high-pressure gas. In order to achieve this purpose, a high-pressure gas seal for sealing a high-pressure gas so that the high-pressure gas does not leak from around a shaft inserted through a shaft hole in a housing has a first stage seal section on the high-pressure side and a second stage seal section on the low-pressure side. The first stage seal section on the high-pressure side has: a medium-rigidity resin ring in slidable contact with the peripheral surface of the shaft; a rubber ring disposed on the outer peripheral side of the medium-rigidity resin ring; a medium-rigidity resin back-up ring disposed on the low-pressure side of both the medium-rigidity resin ring and the rubber ring; and a high-rigidity resin back-up ring disposed closer to the low-pressure side than the medium-rigidity resin back-up ring. The second stage seal section on the low-pressure side has: a low-rigidity resin ring in slidable contact with the peripheral surface of the shaft; and a rubber ring disposed on the outer peripheral side of the low-rigidity resin ring. |
