<p>A silicone rubber-forming composition comprises a diorganopolysiloxane, a filler and an organic peroxide, and also contains from 0.001 to 1.0% by weight of a diketone, a ketoacid ester or a keto alcohol, preferably acetylacetone, acetoacetic acid ester or diacetone alcohol. The rubber-forming compositions used are the standard formulations known in the art. In examples, (1) acetyl acetone, and (2) acetoacetic ester or diacetone alcohol, were added to a composition of a dimethylpolysiloxane, fumesilica, and benzoyl peroxide in liquid dimethyl polysiloxane, and the resulting compositions were heat cured. Uses: for making stoppers for glass containers in which antibiotics are stored.</p> |
