SYSTEMS, METHODS AND DEVICES FOR PROTECTING ORGANS DURING SURGICAL PROCEDURES

Device embodiments are directed to a surgical restraint system that may include a flexible sheet that may be disposed over a cross section of a body cavity in order to isolate and protect organs from a surgical site. Method embodiments may include tilting and returning a patient's body to and from a position such as the Trendelenburg position in addition to deploying and withdrawing the flexible sheet through a small incision in order to isolate and protect internal organs from disruption or injury during a surgical procedure. Such device and method embodiments may also be useful for providing greater access to an internal surgical site by displacing organs which are not involved with a given surgical procedure.
