Method of bonding a first part (62) to a second part (66) of a wind turbine blade, and the turbine blade obtained with such a method. The method involves providing one or more locating devices (68) between the two parts (62, 66).The or each locating device (68) may comprise a threaded shaft (74) mounted to the blade shell (66). The shaft (74) is inserted through an aperture (86) provided in a mounting flange (60) of the shear web (62). A stop element (78) is provided between the blade shell (66) and the mounting flange (60), and a nut (88) is provided on the end of the shaft (74) on the other side of the flange (60). Adhesive (92) is applied between the two parts (62, 66) and the nut (88) is turned to apply a clamping force to the shear web (62) thus compressing the adhesive (92) between the two parts (62, 66). The stop element (78) serves to set the bond height (70) between the two parts (62,66) and it may be height-adjustable (h). |
