Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a touch panel and manufacturing method thereof and a touch display device. The touch panel comprises a first substrate and a second substrate disposed opposite thereto and aligned therewith; a surface of the first substrate facing toward the second substrate is provided with a first planar touch electrode; a surface of the second substrate facing toward the second substrate is provided with a plurality of strips of second touch electrodes, each second touch electrode comprising a strip electrode substrate and a plurality of electrode bosses disposed on the strip electrode substrate; when no touch operation occurs on the touch panel, all of the electrode bosses are insulated from the first touch electrode; when a touch operation occurs on the touch panel, the electrode boss at the point of the touch contacts the first touch electrode.
