The purpose of the present invention is to clarify effects of a fermented papaya preparation on ATP production and mitochondria while confirming safety of the preparation for a type 2 diabetic patient, and find an additional merit of the preparation for the health of the patient. Provided are an ATP production promoter for promoting the production of ATP in a type 2 diabetic patient and a mitochondrial activity promoter for promoting the activity of mitochondria in a type 2 diabetic patient, said promoters comprising the fermented papaya preparation as an active ingredient. Also provided is an immunopotentiator for a type 2 diabetic patient, said immunopotentiator comprising the fermented papaya preparation as an active ingredient and functioning on the basis of the promotion of the production of ATP and/or the promotion of the activity of mitochondria in the type 2 diabetic patient.
