[Problem] To provide a flame-retardancy-imparting material using plant-based waste and a flame-retardant resin molded article. [Solution] The present invention pertains to: a flame-retardancy-imparting material obtained by contacting a plant material selected from a plant and a plant-derived material with an aqueous medium, and thereafter, removing the aqueous medium; and a flame-retardant resin molded article obtained by molding a resin composition containing a resin and the flame-retardancy-imparting material obtained by contacting a plant material selected from a plant and a plant-derived material with an aqueous medium, and thereafter, removing the aqueous medium.
