PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user, in notifying the user of information on the operation of an image forming apparatus on the basis of turning-on of light, to recognize the turning-on of light in good condition from every direction relative to the image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a state display part 33 that displays state information by turning-on of light. The state display part 33 is provided on an apex 305T of a projection housing 305 projecting upward from a main body housing. An LED lamp 43A is arranged inside the projection housing 305, and light from the LED lamp 43A is made incident on a light guide body unit 50. A tip part 53 of the light guide body unit 50 is exposed at the apex 305T of the projection housing 305, which is the highest position in the image forming apparatus, and light is emitted from the tip part 53 to the outside according to the state information.
