Provided is a drive method for a display device (10) in which a plurality of pixel circuits (20) are disposed in a matrix. The pixel circuits (20) each include: an emission element (EL) that emits lights in a quantity which is in accordance with the magnitude of supplied current; and a drive transistor (Trd) that supplies, to the emission element (EL), current which is in accordance with the magnitude of a video signal. In the drive method for the display device (10), in an initialization period for initializing the drive transistor (Trd), an initialization voltage adjustment unit (30) imparts an initialization voltage between the gate and the source of the drive transistor (Trd), such initialization voltage being higher than the threshold voltage of the drive transistor (Trd) and being in accordance with the degradation state of the drive transistor (Trd). |
