In the deciding, it is decided whether or not the corresponding one of the piece of supplemental information is to be displayed based on a frequency with which each of the plurality of words has been displayed along with the piece of supplemental information.

a document acquisition unit for acquiring information on a document including a plurality of words; a supplemental information acquisition unit for acquiring pieces of supplemental information, each piece of supplemental information being linked with one of the plurality of words; a decision unit for determining, for each of the plurality of words, whether or not a piece of supplemental information linked with a corresponding one of the plurality of words is to be displayed; and a display control unit for controlling the plurality of words and the pieces of supplemental information, which are decided to be displayed, so as to be displayed on a screen, wherein the decision unit is configured to decide, for each of the plurality of words, whether or not the corresponding one of the piece of supplemental information is to be displayed based on information indicating a frequency with which each of the plurality of words has been displayed along with the piece of supplemental information linked with the corresponding one of the plurality of words.
