The present invention relates to a high efficiency video coding (HEVC)-based ultra high definition (UHD) image data transmission and reception system, and a scalable high efficiency video coding (SHVC)-based UHD image data transmission and reception system comprises: an image data collection unit for collecting various kinds of image data, which includes UHD image data, and additional data of the image data; an image data coding unit for coding the image data and the additional data by using an HEVC-based scalable coding scheme; and an image data transmission unit for transmitting, to a terminal, at least one of a portion of the coded image data and the coded additional data by using a communication network.
