The present invention relates to a sliding device, intended for being used in coupling devices, in particular in a fifth-wheel coupling mechanism of a semi-trailer truck. The truck (1) comprises, according to the invention: a sliding fifth wheel device (10), and a sliding semi-trailer kingpin device (28). According to the invention, the two devices (10) and (28) comprise a sliding fifth wheel (4) and a sliding semi-trailer kingpin (7), mounted on two sliding mountings (15) and (32). Said mountings (15) and (32) slide along two pairs of guide rails (11) and (11B), arranged parallel to the axis (X) of the axle (E) of the rear wheels (9a) and (9b) of the tractor unit (2). The trailer (3) of the truck (1) pivots in both directions — right and left — according to said axis (X), between two assumed ends (Μ') and (M") of an arc, and about an assumed point (0), located on the main axis of symmetry (Y) of the truck (1).
