PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which is able to emit light with high brightness even when the drive voltage is low and achieves a long service life.SOLUTION: A light emitting element comprises: n layers of EL layers 103, 107 (n is a natural number equal to or greater than 2) lying between an anode 101 and a cathode 102. Between the m-th (m is a natural number, 1≤m≤n-1) EL layer 103 and the (m+1)-th EL layer 107 from the anode, the light emitting element comprises a first layer 104 which contains a first donor material and which is in contact with the m-th EL layer; a second layer 105 which contains an electron transport material and a second donor material and which is in contact with the first layer; and a third layer 106 which contains a hole transport material and an acceptor material and which is in contact with the second layer and the (m+1)-th EL layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
