PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly charge and discharge each storage battery in a power supply device having a lead storage battery and a second storage battery.SOLUTION: A power supply device comprises a rotary machine 10, a lead storage battery 11, and a lithium ion storage battery 12. In the power supply device, the lead storage battery 11 and the lithium ion storage battery 12 are connected to the rotary machine 10 in parallel. The power supply device further comprises a control part 20 which controls SOC of the lithium ion storage battery 12 to fall in a predetermined usage range defined within a whole SOC range. Each of the storage batteries 11 and 12 has a point where a Li open-circuit voltage coincides with a Pb open-circuit voltage on a low-SOC side of the usage range of the lithium ion storage battery 12. In the usage range of the lithium ion storage battery 12, the following relation between the open-circuit voltages holds: Li open-circuit voltage>Pb open-circuit voltage. In charging by the rotary machine 10, a Li internal resistance value is smaller than a Pb internal resistance value. The open-circuit voltages and the internal resistance values are determined so that a terminal voltage when a maximum charging current is running through the lithium ion storage battery 12 is equal to or less than a regulation voltage when the rotary machine 10 is generating electric power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
