A method and an electronic device (1) of controlling an audio output are disclosed. The method includes detecting an audio output device (2, 3) connected to an electronic device (1), determining a type of audio output device (2, 3) associated with the audio output device (2, 3) connected to the electronic device (1), determining a first audio output level associated with the audio output device (2, 3) connected to the electronic device (1) based on the type of audio output device (2, 3) and a predetermined audio output level, and outputting an audio output at the first audio output level using the audio output device (2, 3). |
