<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly projector by performing drive control suitable for installation orientation or a projecting method. <P>SOLUTION: A projector of the present invention comprises: an exterior housing constituted by combining a first case and a second case that are disposed opposite to each other; a light source that is disposed inside the exterior housing and emits a light beam; an optical modulation element for modulating the light beam from the light source in response to image information; a projection optical system for projecting the light beam modulated by the optical modulation element; orientation detecting means for detecting installation orientation of a projector main body; and a controller for drive-controlling entire operation. The orientation detecting means is disposed in such a way that an orientation detecting surface thereof is arranged along the combination direction of the first case and the second case constituting the exterior housing and also along an optical axis of the projection optical system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
