The electrical device has device housing with a mounting base unit (26) and a device function unit. A connecting unit (62) is retained at the base unit with a connecting terminal (66) for electrical connecting cables. The connecting unit is electrically connected with the function unit by a spring system contact element (70) such that the connections are automatically assembled between the connecting terminal and the function unit by system contact with connection of front unit and base unit.
