A golf club head assembly comprising a ball striking plate 1 with a front face having a number of miniature craters 11 and a rear face having a radial series of miniature triangular valleys 8 to align with miniature triangular ridges 10 on the front face of an inertia block 2 and an impact absorption washer between the ball striking face and the inertia block the ball strike face and the inertia block being held together by a screw. A domed socket screw 3 may be used for driver or fairway wood clubs or a flat topped socket screw for iron golf clubs. Impact absorption washers 6,7,8 are required at the toe and shoulders of the socket screw to absorb the impact of the strike plate hitting the ball. Preferably the shaft is aligned with the centre of the inertia block and strike plate to eliminate torque on the shaft 12 of the club. |
