<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID tag having a high degree of freedom in an installation place and an installation shape, achieving a long communication distance compared with a compact RFID tag single body, facilitating the installation of an antenna by dispensing with soldering or the like in its installation, having high reliability by eliminating a trouble of poor connection, and capable of using a metal wire and a conductive thread as a conductor, especially, the conductive thread being used for sewing paper, cloth and soft bendable plastic, and to provide an automatic recognition system using the same. <P>SOLUTION: An RFID tag 85 is disposed with: a substantially rectangular-parallelepiped RFID tag package 80 that includes an IC chip 30, an antenna 20 for forming an electric closed circuit by connecting with the IC chip, and a sealing material for sealing the IC chip and the antenna, and the length of the entire sides of which is 1/50 or less compared with the operating frequency of the IC chip; and a conductor 100 that is not connected to the IC chip and the antenna, and located on the outer periphery of the RFID package.
