<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compatible with a change and addition of specification of a liquid storage container readily at low cost, while preventing an erroneous insertion of a liquid storage container into a holder. <P>SOLUTION: A method for preventing erroneous insertion of a liquid storage container includes: inserting an ink cartridge 20 having a bar code containing ID information into an opening 31 of the holder 30 connected to a print head 11; reading the ID information by a bar code reader 60 provided inside the holder, and then comparing the read ID information with ID information stored in a memory 43; blocking the insertion of the ink cartridge 20 by locking a second movable member 70 when both of the information do not agree with each other; and allowing the ink cartridge 20 to pass through by releasing the lock of the second movable member 70 when both of the information agree with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
