The method involves rolling a wheel (10) via a rolling surface (12), and minimizing driving speed (v) of a vehicle with respect to the rolling surface. The wheel is applied with braking torque (Mb) that is opposite to direction of rotation (14) acting on the wheel. The wheel is temporarily actuated by an accelerator of the vehicle by acceleration torque (Ma) and operated in direction of rotation while reducing the driving speed. A wheel speed measurement is performed by a resolving unit of an electrical machine. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
