The present invention relates to a mobile terminal for displaying image information on a display unit based on a touch input state, and a method for controlling the same. The mobile terminal comprises: a display unit; a sensing unit for sensing a plurality of tabs to tap the display unit in a state that the display unit is inactivated; and a control unit which, when one or more drag inputs are applied following a holding of a touch input, displays image information related to the execution of one or more applications corresponding to each trajectory of the one or more drag inputs which have been applied and displays related image information on the display unit. The control unit distinguishes the one or more drag inputs depending on whether drag inputs corresponding to predetermined trajectories are applied, and recognizes the same. The purpose of the present invention is to enable a user to easily and simply check various image information related to the state of the mobile terminal, even when the display unit of the mobile terminal is inactivated. |
